Our Story
At Happy Mess Makers, we create safe, engaging messy play experiences designed specifically for babies and their parents. Each session is thoughtfully planned with age-appropriate activities that maximize developmental benefits while minimizing stress for parents.
I'm Floriane, and I started Happy Mess Makers because I believe every baby deserves the chance to explore, discover, and yes – make a wonderful mess! After a fruitful career in Event Management throughout Europe, I discovered my passion for working with children and supporting their development through play. This journey led me to pursue BAFA certification (French certification to work with children) and a Masters in permanent education, where I deepened my understanding of how children learn and grow.
Our sessions provide all the materials, setup, and cleanup, so you can focus entirely on enjoying this special time with your little one. Drawing on my event management experience and educational background, I now bring messy play experiences directly to families across the Lisboa Region. I believe that messy play isn't just about getting dirty—it's about exploration, discovery, and building confidence through hands-on experiences with natural, organic materials that support developmental milestones.
Through mobile services, pop-up events, and drop-off packages, I create memorable sensory experiences designed specifically for different age groups, ensuring each activity supports your child's unique developmental stage while giving parents the gift of worry-free play time.

Discovering Messy Play: A Wonderful Adventure for Your Baby
What is messy play?
Messy play is exactly what it sounds like – fun, exploratory activities that might get a little (or a lot!) messy. Think finger painting, playing with cooked pasta, squishing playdough, or splashing in water. It's about giving your baby the freedom to touch, squeeze, pour, and explore different textures and materials without worrying about staying clean.
Why is messy play so valuable for babies?
Messy play is actually one of the most beneficial activities for your baby's development. Through these hands-on experiences, babies develop their fine motor skills as they grasp, pinch, and manipulate different materials. Their sensory system gets rich input from various textures, temperatures, and consistencies, which helps build important neural pathways in their developing brain. Beyond the physical benefits, messy play encourages creativity, problem-solving, and independent exploration. When your baby discovers that squeezing a sponge makes water come out, or that mixing colors creates something entirely new, they're learning cause and effect in the most natural way possible.
